Now rival Huawei looks set to unveil its own bendable buddy.
Huawei has scheduled a live MWC event at 21:00 BJT, which is 14:00 local time in Barcelona. The company will be hosting a live stream of the event in its official Huawei Mobile YouTube handle as well as on Facebook. We can see the Mate X has an outward-folding screen, and that all the display hardware is likely housed on left side of the back of the device. It also means we're going to start to see concept images for a foldable iPhone, like these.
With respect to design, the Mate X has only one display, unlike the Galaxy Fold.

Huawei has been teasing us for a while about its plans to launch a foldable phone with a flexible display. Notably, Balong 5000 chipset which is the Chinese consumer tech giant's first commercial 5G router. However, the Mate X is expected to carry Huawei's latest high-end processor Kirin 980 with Dual NPU. There appears to be three cameras on this section, which could be used both for selfies when closed and facing the user, normal photos when closed and facing away from the user, or normal photography when open, as the cameras will be on the outside.
