Wells Fargo Outage: Website, App Down and Not Working, Gateway Error

According to Wells Fargo, its customers are now experiencing some problems with online banking and mobile app services.

"We continue to work on restoring all our services as soon as possible, and encourage customers to contact us if they have questions or concerns", the bank's release said. The bank's home page was back online.

This is the second time in a week Wells Fargo has experienced technical issues.

Users took to Twitter complaining about not being able to access the bank's website and app.

Reportedly, the incident happened at a data center in Shoreview, Minnesota but Wells Fargo hasn't commented on the location of the data center.

Many customers report their debit cards were declined when paying for goods and services. "We apologize for the inconvenience", Wells Fargo told Newsweek.

Last Friday - a typical pay day, the company's online banking and mobile app wasn't working.

The outage comes only days after the bank experienced a similar system breakdown on February 1.

Cozad Asset Management Inc. acquired a new stake in shares of Wells Fargo & Co (NYSE:WFC) during the fourth quarter, according to its most recent Form 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The online problems add to customer headaches for Wells, which has tried to fix damaged relations after revelations in 2016 that employees possibly opened 3.5 million unauthorized accounts to meet high-pressure sales goals.
