TV Ellen DeGeneres Facing Criticism For Saying Kevin Hart Should Host Oscars

Kevin Hart ‘evaluating’ returning to host the Oscars after Ellen De Generes sit-down

Kevin Hart arrives at the Los Angeles premiere of"Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle in 2017

They wrote: "To Ellen".

"[Hart] should especially seek forgiveness from Black queer folks in addition to his broader appeals, something DeGeneres can't grant".

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Hart said he has grown as a comedian.

Yesterday, Hart appeared on Ellen's show, and he was less than contrite. "When me and Will Ferrell did Get Hard, and we did the promo tour, that's when Kevin Hart was hit with so much stuff..."

Among some of the things Ellen said in her interview with Kevin, she added, "As a gay person, I am sensitive to all of that". You know what? I get it.

In the beginning of the controversy friend and co-star on a few projects, Nick Cannon came out to defend Hart against the Twitter mob.

"This whole ellen/kevin hart thing is a ideal example of how privilege and constant praise distorts a person's reality so much that they perceive any criticism, however valid, to be an attack on their entire livelihood", added another.

Hart said he has apologized for his past tweets before, and apologized again in the video clips that were shared. "We are a huge group of people who love you and want to see you host the Oscars".

DeGeneres also took to Twitter to back the comedian. Don't let those people win. "But I don't believe in going backward".

"If he comes out vociferously apologizing, then everybody deserves a second chance", she said.

Ellen DeGeneres is being skewered on social media for reducing the criticism of Kevin Hart's homophobic comments to an attack by a small group of internet haters.

Ellen personally knows Kevin well enough to vouch for him and is a pillar in the LGBTQ community; however, her opinion ruffled some feathers.

In this conversation, @KevinHart4real was authentic and real, and I'm in his corner. "We would be thrilled, and he should host the Oscars'".

Hart admitted he stepped down from the hosting position partly because he did not want his job to become "an apology tour".

Let's ask a simple question: How is it anyone's "right" to host the Oscars? I had to address those tweets in 2012 in a very, very heavy junket where I was asked questions about homophobia based on those tweets, and I had to address it and apologize and say I understand what those words do and how they hurt.

Though DeGeneres has been a beloved gay icon for years, her fans in and out of the LGBTQ community were extremely disappointed with her response to Hart's homophobic drama.

The 91st Academy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on Sunday February 24, which will be Monday morning (February 25) in India.
