The case of the 22-year-old British backpacker in New Zealand has gone from a missing persons case to a murder investigation, according to Auckland City Police.
Her father, David Millane, has travelled to New Zealand and held an emotional press conference yesterday.
"Just after 3pm this afternoon, a 26-year-old man was located at a central Auckland address by police".
Investigators have been examining a scene at the hotel complex where Grace, who turned 22 last Sunday, was last seen with a "male companion" on December 1.
The 26-year-old man has been speaking with police in Auckland in relation to her disappearance, officers said.
DI Beard said: "I know that the thoughts of all New Zealanders will be with Grace's family tonight and I want to reassure everyone both here and overseas that NZ Police are determined to do everything we can to find Grace".

She went missing in Auckland about a week ago and hasn't been heard from since. "We are all extremely upset, and it's very hard at this time to fully describe the range of emotions we are going through".
The investigation into the disappearance of English tourist Grace Millane has revealed several of her belongings are missing, including her passport.
She was travelling the world after graduating from university in September.
In Auckland, police continue to search the CityLife apartment where Millane was last seen at 9.41pm on December 1, and are sifting through hundreds of hours of CCTV footage. But, a week after her disappearance, police say their evidence leads them to believe that she is dead.
Police released images of Ms Millane's watch and necklace earlier on Saturday.
Police said there was no suggestion Millane previously knew the man she was seen entering the hotel with, but would not speculate on how they met. Grace has never been out of contact for this amount of time and is usually in daily contact with either her mother, myself or her two brothers.
