Users in the US and Europe began reporting that Facebook has been inaccessible since at least 8:15 a.m. ET. Several users across the globe were not able to log in, see messages and connect to the server.
Users across the country were reporting problems with both Facebook and Instagram.
Users looking for answers headed to Twitter, where the #facebookdown hashtag rapidly started trending. And the parent company behind the "Facebook family of apps" is confirming certain users' trouble accessing the social networking applications as of late Tuesday morning.
