Trump seethes against Russian Federation probe 'disgrace'

House Democrats target Whitaker's involvement in 'scam' company

Chuck Schumer Threatens Protections For Mueller

President Trump railed against the special counsel probe Thursday morning, accusing officials working on the investigation of berating witnesses without evidence.

House Democrats are kicking off their investigations into the Trump administration by probing acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker's connections to a Florida company that was shut down by the Federal Trade Commission over what court documents called "a scam that has bilked thousands of consumers out of millions of dollars".

"They are a disgrace to our Nation and don't care how many lives (they) ruin".

Trump this week, according to news accounts, has been weighing written answers to questions posed by Mueller's investigators about whether Trump's 2016 campaign colluded with Russian interests to help him win, an allegation he has repeatedly rejected as unfounded. They won't even look at all of the bad acts and crimes on the other side.

It's been a quiet few days, but that seems certain to change.

President Trump is turning the tables by claiming the only players involved in the Russian Federation collusion narrative are Democrats.

As a fact-check, Mueller was approved for his Federal Bureau of Investigation position by the full Senate by a 98 to 0 vote.

Following this decision, Mr Trump told the New York Times: "Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else". McConnell says Trump, despite his vocal complaints against Mueller, has assured him he won't fire Mueller and that his investigation will be allowed to reach its conclusion.

Whitaker, before joining the Justice Department more than a year ago, had disparaged the Mueller investigation and suggested that a replacement attorney general, such as he is now, could cut funding for the investigation so that it "grinds nearly to a halt".

In a preview of the opposition Trump can expect in January, when a new Democratic majority takes control of the House of Representatives, the Democrats said Whitaker should not have been appointed because he has not been confirmed by the Senate.

Yesterday, Nov. 14, four Democrat House Representatives announced an investigation into Whitaker's role at World Patent Marketing.

In a two-paragraph legal filing on Wednesday, Mueller offered a rare glimpse into the status of the probe and noted that former Trump presidential campaign aide Rick Gates is cooperating with prosecutors in several ongoing investigations.
