In response, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders distributed a video which she claims shows Acosta pushing a female White House intern as she attempts to take the microphone from Acosta.
That was a reference to the intern's efforts to wrest the microphone away from Acosta, which he successfully resisted, and Sanders' tweeted statement was accompanied by a video purporting to show the reporter aggressively swatting the intern's arm away.
"The White House Correspondents' Association strongly objects to the Trump Administration's decision to use US Secret Service security credentials as a tool to punish a reporter with whom it has a hard relationship", the group said. Mr. Acosta stated his opinion that the caravan wasn't an "invasion", as Mr. Trump has asserted, instead of asking a question.
"I watch her get up", he said Friday.
"When you're in the White House - this is a very sacred place to me, this is very special place - you have to treat the White House with respect; you have to treat the presidency with respect", Trump noted. You shouldn't treat people that way...
Ryan, who has worked as the White House bureau chief for American Urban Reporters Network for more than 20 years, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Baltimore Sun.
Shapiro says that when Acosta's hand touches the intern's arm as she reaches for his microphone, the action speeds up in the apparently altered video to accentuate his movement. The White House News Photographers Association has called the footage "deceptive, dangerous, and unethical", and of course, if true, such a manipulation would be an egregious violation of governmental and journalistic practices. He said she was rude for interrupting another reporter, though he did briefly answer one of Ryan's questions. After increasingly heated back-and-forth between the men, Trump told Acosta "you should let me run the country, you run CNN", and cut off his questions. "And never surprising", CNN said. "What a stupid question", Trump snapped.
"Just sit down", Trump said.
"CNN is the lowest rated cable news network even though it has embraced a "hate-Trump" posture".
"I mean, you talk about somebody that's a loser".
Trump has frequently attacked the media, including during his presidential campaign.
Nevertheless, as a result of his actions, Jim's credentials and permission to attend White House conferences has officially been revoked - for now. "That's not doctoring", Trump said, also telling the press, "Nobody manipulated it, give me a break".
