The giveaway is to mark the game's one year anniversary on PC, with the game being free indefinitely for anyone who downloads the title in this window. In a press release, Activision announced that the Destiny 2 PC version will be free to everyone for a limited time! All you need to do is log into Battle.net and you'll see a prompt for a free gift.
If you have Destiny 2 and none of its expansions, expect to pay almost the same amount with the past expansions costing Rs.1,660 in India ($20 in the US) while Destiny 2: Forsaken sports a Rs. 2,500 price tag ($40 in the US).
Interestingly enough, this isn't the first instance of Destiny 2's base game going free in order to incentivize players into spending money on its DLC. This does not, of course, include the Forsaken expansion, but it includes all of the content up to that point.
Hosted on Battle Net, it has now been confirmed that Destiny 2 will become a free download on PC for a short amount of time. After less than a year on the market, Destiny 2 is now available for the low, low price of $0. The free testing period for the mode ends on November 11. As a matter of fact, Bungie's science fiction shooter sequel was offered at no additional cost to PlayStation Plus subscribers back in September 2018, as the studio had been priming fans to get ready for the action-RPG's latest expansion, Forsaken.
