Apple already introduced new MacBook Pros but the rest of its macOS product line hasn't seen a refresh in a while.
It's unclear if Face ID will only work in portrait or landscape mode, or if Apple has figured out a way for it to identify faces in either orientation.
One of the biggest rumours about the new iPad Pro is that this tablet will get an nearly fully edge-to-screen screen.
Finally and most interestingly, Apple is tipped to ditch its proprietary Lighting port for USB-C when it comes to the 2018 iPad Pro. This will be a huge shift towards a more universal standard, all mobile Apple devices have relied on lightning port till now. Face ID will reportedly even operate when the new iPad Pro is attached to Apple's Smart Keyboard, which is also likely set to be slightly revamped. The main MacBook is now more than a year old, and we're expecting the 12-inch laptops to get a boost with the latest 8th-generation Intel chips this time. Also, if you take a look at some of the aforementioned iPad Pro renders below, you'll notice how there's no notch and that the Face ID sensors blend seamlessly right into the bezel. While the tablet market is contracting overall, the iPad has been slowly regaining momentum thanks to new software and lower-priced models, but also because competitors like Amazon.com and Samsung Electronics haven't wowed the market lately.
Of course, this email may be a red herring and Apple may just ship out a normal MacBook Air come the end of next week, but as they say, there's no smoke without fire.
Word on the street is that Apple is likely to bring next-generation Mac Mini with latest Intel chips for normal home and office purposes. This will be the first update to Mac Mini since 2014.
Last year, Apple didn't have an October event.
Well, reputed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo does believe that Apple will be refreshing its Mac mini lineup with faster internals this year.
AdvertisementThese devices are getting a nip here and a tuck there, resulting in their biggest redesign since... ever. Nonetheless, this should also be good enough for most users as the Mac mini in its current iteration is awfully outdated and of no use.
Integrated "Hey Siri" functionality is also rumoured to be coming to the AirPods 2.
If this all-screen design becomes a reality it will mean iPad fans will get a much bigger display without the device's size getting physically larger.
