Package Containing 'Device' Found Addressed To The White House

The news came after a suspicious package at Robert de Niro's NY restaurant was called in to police this morning.

It is also known that sending the actor was sent to the address where the restaurant is located and the office of his company.

The package was removed from the building around 7 a.m.

The FBI said an additional package was intended for former Attorney General Eric Holder, but that one ended up at a Florida office of Democratic Rep.

The only common thread between the people who have received devices is that they are prominent figures - many current or former Democratic elected officials - who have publicly clashed with Trump.

Other officials said the devices contained in the envelopes were all similar to one found in the mailbox of the Soros home and later detonated by police.

Hours earlier, he took a softer tone at a rally in Wisconsin Wednesday night.

As reported earlier, unknown sent parcel bombs to the offices of former U.S. President Barack Obama and former Secretary of state Hillary Clinton. It was returned to the Democratic congresswoman because that was the return label on the package, the sources said, adding that it was the same return address for the packages sent to Obama and Clinton. That means FBI investigators can "look for patterns such as the device, the technical expertise, the method of mailing, a whole host of great, rich forensic evidence that can be gathered".

The bombs overtook other campaign news in an already-tense political season, which has included pitched fights over immigration, the Supreme Court and sexual violence against women. Trump said. "We're all behaving very well, and hopefully we can keep it that way, right?"

"It does remain possible that further packages could or have been mailed", assistant Federal Bureau of Investigation director William Sweeney said, confirming that "some" packages had been sent through the U.S. postal system. That package had an incorrect address, so it was redirected to Wasserman Schultz's office in Sunrise, Fla., and recovered there.

The package was received within the past few days, said police.

Sanders and Trump both condemned the actions of the still unknown senders of explosive devices to CNN as well as several prominent Democratic politicians and George Soros, but Zucker was not the only person to draw a connection between the president's violent rhetoric-just last week the president praised a Montana congressman for assaulting a reporter-and the attempted bombings.

He added that a similar device was sent to his office in NY.

Ms Wasserman Shultz was the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, but resigned from her position after the release of DNC emails during the 2016 United States presidential election campaign.

The comments from Trump seemingly faulting the media for the spate of suspicious packages being investigate by federal authorities comes a week after the president appeared to praise a fellow Republican who assaulted a journalist previous year.

Former CIA Director John Brennan, the target of one package sent to CNN, fired back.

In his remarks at the White House on Wednesday, Trump did not name any of the entities targeted by the devices.

"I've seen the guy maybe 80 times and I never said a word to him because I had a feeling he was a little off", said Weiss, a 56-year-old building superintendent who has lived in the neighbourhood for eight years. Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST!'

O'Neill said a retired New York City police detective who had seen pictures of a device that arrived at CNN recognized one that looked like it at De Niro's address in Tribeca, in Manhattan.

Officials described the devices as PVC pipes stuffed with what appeared to be fireworks powder and glass.

"These terrorizing acts are despicable, and anyone responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law", White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

CNN reports: "It was not immediately clear who the package was addressed to, but CNN evacuated its newsroom as a precaution".
