According to Arizona Lottery officials, a $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at a Circle K in Surprise near 163rd Avenue and Bell.

The Powerball jackpot escaped capture Wednesday night and rolled to an impressive $750 million with a cash option of $428.6 million for the October 27 drawing.

Only three lottery jackpots have been larger than this Powerball, but with two giant prizes in one week, it's hard not to compare. Ticket sales in MA for that drawing totaled more than $32 million, officials said.

After three months, a record-breaking Mega Millions jackpot has finally been won.

The 10 top local news stories from metro Boston and around New England delivered daily. Powerball has had 21 drawings in a row without a jackpot victor.

Drawings are conducted every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

If you didn't win the almost $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot, $750 million might be a nice consolation prize. More than 10 million tickets were sold for that drawing in MA alone.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. The jackpot returns to $40 million for Friday's drawing.

The victor or winners should take their ticket to the Lottery's Claims Center on Assembly St.in Columbia during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

More than 259,000 other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing, including more than 51,000 tickets purchased with the Power Play® option that won prizes multiplied by two.
