YouTube down: Major outage prompts outcry on social media

Video site YouTube experiencing a worldwide outage

YouTube experiencing "access issues" in apparent global outage

YouTube tweeted a statement that they are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. "We're working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed", the company account says. Earlier there have been reports of micro blogging site Twitter being down but the news of Youtube facing a major outage is certainly the first. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated", Team Youtube posted on Twitter.

Likewise, with all Google-operated administrations, genuine downtime for YouTube is really uncommon.

Nearly two hours after the planet experienced the terrifying outage, representatives for the video streaming service reassured us all that the natural order of the world has been restored.

Some users were met by an "internal service error" message.

Some YouTube users still complained that they were unable to watch any recorded shows on YouTube TV.

YouTube's search functions were still functioning on the web and mobile - however, the videos were not playable from the results screen.

The issue has now been resolved. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, YouTube TV - a paid livestreaming service - went down briefly during the match between Croatia and England.
