New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, left, catches a pass in front of Kansas City Chiefs safety Josh Shaw (30) during the second half of an NFL football game Sunday in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The New England Patriots issued a statement with the update on Monday.
Hill had just scored the game-tying touchdown with three minutes to play in the fourth quarter when he approached the end zone seats, where two fans gave him the middle finger and a third emptied his beer bottle on the third-year pro.
After the game, Hill was asked about the incident and said he "wasn't mad at all".
"My coach [Andy Reid] told me, 'Don't get emotional, Don't get mad about it because it comes with the territory, '" Hill told the Kansas City Star. Unfortunately, it was the Patriots who had it last and of course they marched right down the field and kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired. The Chiefs still hold a one-game lead over the Patriots and anyone else in the AFC.
But he kept firing and was rewarded with the four touchdown passes, including one of 67 yards to Kareem Hunt and another of 75 yards to Hill. I wouldn't go that far - I wondered if Michaels had Adam Vinatieri on the brain there for a split-second - but Gostkowski does deserve more credit than he gets for being such a steady and productive successor to Vinatieri over the past 13 seasons (yes, it has been that long). The NFL can be demanding (meeting after meeting, physical practice after physical practice, weight room session after weight room session), but it is games like Sunday night that make it all worth it.
"It's tough to slow those guys down, they've been scoring a lot of points all year", Brady said. That ugly display was caught by NBC's "Sunday Night Football" cameras, and it quickly captured social media conversation.
The Chiefs also started 5-0 last season before losing six of their last 11 and falling in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
"You got to love the way the team fought", he said.
"I missed some throws, " Mahomes said.
The drive before, New England responded to its only deficit of the night with a touchdown drive. And how can anyone not be sold on Patrick Mahomes at this point? "They threw a lot of pressure at us, a lot of different, and I just tried to stay within myself".
"I think the best is ahead of us if we just keep working at it", he added.
