On his first worldwide trip as president, Trump visited Saudi Arabia and announced $110 billion in proposed arms sales.

Corker spoke with reporters after the letter was released, and he emphasized that senators "specifically said it included the highest members of the regime" and could "absolutely" lead to us sanctions targeting the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud.

'He walked into the consulate of Saudi Arabia, his native country, without doubting he would be safe there. Two previous attempts both failed, the first one garnering only 25 votes while the second managed to get 47 votes - but Paul thinks that "growing opposition" to Saudi actions would ensure that another vote would be successful.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) warned Thursday there will be a "complete revolt" on Capitol Hill if Saudi Arabia was involved in the disappearance of Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi.

The footage released on Wednesday shows Khashoggi entering the Saudi consulate as well as images of black vans driving to the building.

A source told the Post that prior to Khashoggi going missing, USA intelligence intercepted Saudi officials' communications, which revealed a plan to capture Khashoggi and get him to Saudi Arabia.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Bob Corker says he has reviewed United States intelligence reports suggesting that Khashoggi was killed on October 2, the day he went to the consulate.

The Post, citing anonymous USA officials familiar with the intelligence, said Prince Mohammed ordered an operation to lure Khashoggi from his home in Virginia, where he lived most recently, to Saudi Arabia and then detain him.

"I think we'll get to the bottom of it", said Trump.

A team of investigators is preparing to go into the consulate, where Khashoggi was last seen entering nine days ago, a Turkish security official told Reuters. His disappearance has triggered a widening investigation by Turkish authorities, amid fears the journalist was killed inside the consulate.

In an op-ed in the Washington Post on Tuesday, she implored the president and his wife to "help shed light on Jamal's disappearance".

Earlier Wednesday, Turkish media published surveillance footage of the men Ankara believes to have been part of the "assassination squad".

"We're being very tough".

According to one friend, Khashoggi told him "I don't trust them one bit" after a conversation with one such official.

Riyadh has insisted Mr Khashoggi, 59, left the building alive and murder claims are "baseless".

Jamal Khashoggi was killed on the orders of Saudi leadership, Turkish officials revealed to the New York Times.

Mohammed is a close ally of the United States and has developed a relationship with Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and a White House adviser.

Trump on Monday expressed concern about Khashoggi's case and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called for a thorough investigation.

"I recognised his photograph immediately", said Ghanem al-Dosari, a Saudi satirist living in exile in London, who knew Mr Mutreb socially.

"And so to me it feels very much like some nefarious activity has occurred by them", Corker added, according to The Beast.

He added, "The Saudis continue to claim that they aren't targeting civilians inside Yemen, but how can we believe them when they apparently just hunted down and murdered an American resident whose only offense was writing critical articles about the Saudi royal family?"
