Singer and businessman Kanye West is scheduled to meet again with President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday, Oct. 11, almost two years after West met with then-president-elect Trump at Trump Tower. Set for Thursday, the meeting will apparently include lunch with Jared Kushner and a talk with Trump about Chicago and jobs for former convicts. That's according to the New York Times, who reported the news Monday. Unfortunately, the two are no longer interested in keeping up their friendship in light of West's political antics.
The confluence of the announcement of West's upcoming meeting with Trump and the Tuesday morning announcement of U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley's resignation instantly resulted in jokes and memes speculating that the rapper was replacing Haley.
Like Trump, Kanye has a flair for the dramatic, and understands the power of an inflammatory statement. "I can't say we would have done it but I think it's important to have a point of view and we have a point of view on many things our competitors have and I think it's a good point of view".
"There could be a theory you know when he met with Trump at Trump towers in the very beginning of Trump being Trump, they could of had an agreement", Williams said recently on her TV show. The musician, who sported a MAGA hat during the episode, was praised by Trump at a rally this week, and blasted by SNL cast member Pete Davidson during this past Saturday's Weekend Update. I think the more you can unite people through sport, the better it is.
West issued strong public support for President Trump and his policies earlier this year.
