Lindsey Graham Wants To Investigate Whether Someone Leaked Kavanaugh Accuser's Name

Sen. Lindsey Graham got really, really mad at the Kavanaugh hearing

Sen. Graham: ‘This Is The Most Unethical Sham Since I’ve Been In Politics’

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham suggested that there is no need for the FBI's supplemental investigation of Brett Kavanaugh to include talking to his former classmates about his drinking habits in college.

"Boy, you all want power".

"I hope the American people can see through this sham", he added. He said that a 35-year-old allegation should not become the new standard for withholding a nomination and that Democrats strategically dropped the accusation right before the hearing.

The blistering rebuke of Democrats came after Christine Blasey Ford, the Palo Alto University psychology professor who accused Kavanaugh of assaulting her, testified about her experience with the judge.

"I can not imagine what you and your family have gone through", Graham told Kavanaugh during the hearing.

Ford claims Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her during a party in 1982 when they were high school students. Lindsey Graham to have a temper tantrum and twice reference fallen television icon Bill Cosby. "To my Republican colleagues, if you vote no, you're legitimizing the most despicable thing I have seen in my time in politics", Graham warned.

"I promise everybody who's listening, we're not going to let them get away with this", he said. It was meant to shame them for even considering voting with the Democrats to block Kavanaugh's confirmation.

"My mind's made up about Brett Kavanaugh and it would take a dynamite accusation [to change it]", Graham told Pelley. Ford was too young to drive but can not recall how she got there or how she left - a big deal for those of us who remember the days before cellphones or Uber.

"They don't reach conclusions, you reach conclusions", Kavanaugh said, adding that what the Federal Bureau of Investigation would essentially do was "ask question and type out the report".

Trump ordered the FBI to reopen the investigation into Kavanaugh's background on Friday after Flake joined with Collins and Murkowski to demand a week's delay in Kavanaugh's confirmation vote so the probe could be conducted. By calling out the sheer recklessness of the Democrats' cynical manipulation of the Kavanaugh confirmation for what it is, Graham took on an enhanced leadership position despite never having been a favorite among numerous GOP's core conservatives.
