Nintendo confirmed that the Nintendo Switch Online service would launch on September 18th in North America, with a United Kingdom launch happening the following day. Perhaps most immediately useful at launch, though, is its promise of allowing cloud saves for any games players have in progress.
The service also unlocks access to a library of NES games, including Super Mario Bros. Otherwise, the announcement has no other information regarding details for the Nintendo Switch's new paid online gameplay service, particularly availability worldwide.
Of course, there's likely to be some gameplay tricks up Nintendo's sleeve with the Switch.
While UK pricing hasn't yet been confirmed, we know how much it'll cost in the US.
If you have multiple Switch users on a single home system, you'll definitely want to check your account settings and make sure all the accounts are in order. There are options for both individual and family memberships (up to 8 users).
Nintendo also took the opportunity to announce that the Switch Online service will begin in North America on Tuesday, September 18.
