The AP's preseason top 25 poll is one of two preseason polls.

Check out the full preseason Top-25 below.

The preseason AP poll started in 1950 and since then only Oklahoma from 1985-87 had started No. 1 in three straight years until now.

For the 16th time in the last 18 years, the Oklahoma football team is ranked in the Associated Press preseason top 10.

It's the fifth time Alabama has entered the season ranked No. 1 under Coach Nick Saban, though past year was the only one of those seasons in which the Tide won the national title. In an unsurprising twist, Alabama and Clemson top the poll with the vast majority of first-place votes, with Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide narrowly snatching the top spot away from Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.

The first AP Top 25 poll of the new college football season has been released.

Going for their second straight national championship, the Alabam Crimson Tide already have one three-peat in the bag. It was the highest preseason rank since the team opened at No. 6 in 2004.

A host of Big Ten teams - five in all - cracked the top 15. Kansas State received 10 points (36th overall) and Iowa State eight points (37th). The Coaches' Poll was released earlier this month.
