Eden Hazard is now expected to stay at Chelsea despite strong rumours linking him with Real Madrid.

His agent is quoted as saying the 26-year-old wants to move to Real Madrid, with new Blues boss Sarri set to hold face-to-face talks with the shot-stopper.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri said he only wanted players "with a very high level of motivation" amid continuing uncertainty about the future of several members of his new team. Chelsea is going to be left with no choice but to move him at this point.

The Blues kick-off their Premier League campaign away to David Wagner's Huddersfield on Saturday and can now be backed out at 14/1 to win the Premier League title.

He said: "At the moment Courtois is the goalkeeper of Chelsea".

According to ESPN sources, the Belgian worldwide who returned to training on Monday has told the former Napoli manager that he wants to quit Stamford Bridge as there is only one year left on his contract.

Chelsea's next game is against Lyon in the International Champions Cup on August 7 before the Blues kick off in the Premier League against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Courtois has been the subject of intense transfer speculation this summer and is desperate to join Real Madrid.

Courtois is reported to have informed new manager Maurizio Sarri of his wish to leave - a circumstance the Italian said would lead to him sanctioning a sale.

Sarri was appointed three weeks ago after Antonio Conte was sacked as head coach and Chelsea were well beaten by Manchester City in Sunday's Community Shield at Wembley.

The meeting took place just hours before Thibaut was to report to his first day of training after taking the last month to recover from a busy summer.

We talked only about 'can I arrive on Monday instead of Sunday?'

The Belgian's family still live in the Spanish capital and he is so keen to make the move that he went AWOL from training earlier today. "I think he will be a very useful player for us".
