Cher to release album of Abba covers following Mamma Mia! role

Amanda Seyfried

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again – but just how does the sequel shape up?

Amanda Seyfried reprises her role from the original Mamma Mia! as Donna's daughter Sophie - who is now pregnant herself - with Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard, and Colin Firth returning as well.

Cher continues to perform live: as well as continuing her concert residencies in Washington DC and Las Vegas throughout 2018, she will tour Australia in the autumn.

While ABBA hits like "Take a Chance on Me" and "Dancing Queen" have previously been covered by Erasure, by A-Teens and on "Glee", Cher said her renditions would break away a bit from the tried-and-true, 1970s Europop sound. They also shared something else: a friendly, delightful kiss. I sat snobbishly on my high horse and said it was a load of cheesy nonsense with a clunky plot that didn't so much develop as lurch from one Abba song to another. "He's very supportive and he loves this movie, and [he and Dominic] got along absolutely fine when we were shooting".

"It was fantastic", Seyfried recalled of being free to date "The Newsroom" actor.

"Finally after eight years there was a script that everyone agreed on so we said OK then, let's do it", he said.

After Seyfried and Cooper's split, he dated actress Ruth Negga (Loving and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) for eight years, before they called it quits in April.

This aligns perfectly with what other stars have said about a particularly emotional moment in the movie with Streep in that exact setting.

"[He] never flirted, never disrespected his wife", Seyfried told Porter magazine earlier this month.

Falling in love with Sadoski, she said, was "amazing". "It felt healthy and freeing and clean".
