Dinklage missed out on a nomination past year due to Game of Thrones' late premiere date, which disqualified the series from the 2017 competition.
For the first year, Netflix have beaten HBO as the network with the most overall nods, with the streaming giant's productions - which include The Crown, Ozark and Stranger Things - earning it 112 nominations across the board, four more than HBO.
As far as other networks and platforms, NBC received the third most nominations this year, 78, followed by FX Networks (50), CBS (34), ABC (31), Hulu (27), and Amazon (22). She wasn't nominated for an Emmy in 2017, either.
"Among the welcome highlights, the Television Academy recognized the final season of "The Americans", Sandra Oh for her standout starring performance in BBC America's "Killing Eve", Issa Rae for HBO's "Insecure" and Ted Danson - representing one of the few major-network series to break through - for NBC's The Good Place". Medfield's Uzo Aduba has been nominated for Supporting Actress for "Orange Is the New Black" three times (winning twice, in 2014 and 2015), while Wayland and West Roxbury's Taylor Schilling was nominated for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014. He is also nominated for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for "Saturday Night Live".
As always, the Emmys will be second-guessed and analyzed, looking for snubs and surprises.
While far behind leader Netflix, the other two established SVOD players, Hulu, who claimed the first best series win for a streamer past year with Handmaid's Tale, and Amazon/Prime Video, continue to gain ground.
