The ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018 has not only been the source of surprises for football fans but also a great season for meme-makers.

Chelsea striker Batshuayi was ridiculed for some awful misses in Belgium's Group G game against Tunisia last Saturday and he didn't do much to suggest he deserves to be a first choice starter as he started against England in Kaliningrad.

Sadly for the "Bat-man", the ball rebounded off the post and struck him in the face.

He is now the talk of the internet - and he said he knows he "f-- up".

Well, that is exactly what happened to Belgium and Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi. The World Cup is over.

Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi is, like most modern footballers, well-versed with social media.

After his "celebration", Batshuayi knew that his social media mentions would be going insane and there would be lots of pictures of the incident.

Why? Because he's viral and he knows it. Twitter told him - repeatedly.

He was selected for England against Belgium as Gareth Southgate rotated the team for the final group game with Belgium.

"How can I be so stupid, stuff like that really hurts", he said via a tweet.

Batshuayi does not hold grudges, according to his Belgium teammate Axel Witsel.
