Kanye West, J. Cole, others respond to XXXTentacion's fatal shooting

Rapper XXXTentacion reportedly shot in Miami

XXXTentacion was reportedly shot Monday in Miami

A representative for the Broward Sheriff's Office confirmed to Complex that the man who was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital was Jahseh Onfroy, a.k.a. XXXTentacion.

TMZ previously reported that according to an eyewitness, the "Look at Me" rapper "appeared lifeless with no pulse".

Attorney David Bogenschutz said investigators also told him the 20-year-old rapper, who pronounced his stage name "Ex Ex Ex ten-ta-see-YAWN", had visited a bank shortly before the shooting and possibly withdrew cash for the purchase.

XXXTentacion was leaving RIVA Motorsports when he was fatally shot in the driver's seat of a black BMW i8 around 4:00 p.m. He was shot earlier outside a Deerfield Beach motorcycle dealership.

Onfroy was taken to Broward Health North where he later died, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

XXXTentacion - whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy - has reportedly been involved in multiple feuds, but none which were believed to be threatening, TMZ says.

The rapper, whose grim, often suicidal rhymes propelled him to the top of the U.S. chart just months ago, was said to have had his second album debuted in March at the top of the Billboard charts.

In December, Onfroy was put on house arrest after additional charges of witness tampering were brought against him over allegedly coercing his former girlfriend to decline testifying against him, but a judge granted Onfroy's release in March so that he could tour. He feuded with Drake and was briefly pulled from Spotify after he was arrested on charges of domestic abuse against his pregnant girlfriend. J. Cole had similarly kind words, calling him an "enormous talent" and saying he had a "strong desire to be a better person". He released his debut album, 17, the same year, and followed it up with?

"This got me f-ked up". "God bless his family, friends and fans", he posted. "If I'm gonna die or ever be a sacrifice, I want to make sure that my life made at least 5 million kids happy..."
