IHOP reveals the mystery of IHOb

The International House of Pancakes is no more, IHOP officially revealing what the "b" in their new name IHOb means.

"Why couldn't you be worldwide house of brunch and start serving mimosas and bellinis", somebody else questioned.

The new burgers are available with unlimited french fries and a drink for $6.99. The "b" stands for burgers! Several new burgers have been added to the menu.

Although at least one IHOP location in Hollywood received new IHOb signs, IHOP president Darren Rebelez told CNNMoney the vast majority of the almost 1,800 other locations will still go by IHOP.

IHOP's marketing team should be treating itself to some vanilla-spice pancakes with extra syrup right about now.

The American chain teased the change June 4 on Twitter, saying "For 60 pancakin' years, we've been IHOP".

A few moments later, the plate flips and a big, juicy burger appears in the shot.

Some locations in the States actually went as far as changing their signs, but we anticipate they'll be back to normal when this promotion runs its course. Fans immediately took to the video, already giving it 13,000 views as well as 650-plus comments within just an hour of being posted.

The former leader in much needed hangover food has made a decision to enter into the burger joint business. "If you want a burger and beer, you are not going to come to IHOP".

In other words, the B in IHOb clearly doesn't stand for booze. I got to ihop for all day breakfast items.

Naturally, a few 'net-savvy users utilized some old favorite memes to express their distaste for the new situation.

The mysterious campaign drew mixed reviews.
