Van Vleet scores 14, but Cavs dominate Raptors

It's only two games, and you have to win four to move on, but the Toronto Raptors are done.

This year was supposed to be different.

Love's had his struggles against the Raptors before in the playoffs and bounced back.

"We thrive off adversity". "That's what point we're at now". "Because of the injury I had in Game 7 [of the first round against the Indiana Pacers] I didn't have the opportunity to get on the court this morning and [Monday] as well, so, but at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is to try to get a win". "He knew what was at stake, he knew us getting another win here was going to be huge for us". It doesn't matter what they do, or how much Dwane Casey manages to maximize his roster, or what new tricks DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry add to their repertoires. Toronto seems to have a mental disadvantage against Cleveland. The Toronto Raptors have lost six of their last eight road games.

James, meanwhile, gave credit to Love, who shot 11-for-21 and missed matching his career playoff high by one point.

"I just want the team to get better every game", James said when comparing this Cavs side to previous ones.

So, you get him to turn his back 15 feet or more away from the basket, stick tight as he turns and fires in one motion from various points on floor, and hope for the best.

"So he's part of the reason why I am who I am today". "What do you say?" Sometimes when you're put in a tough situation, that's what brings the best out of you. In fact, LeBron's Cavs have destroyed Toronto at home in their two previous playoff series, winning those five games by an average of 24-plus points per game.

The Celtics also took a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference series. Robert Covington added 22 points and nine rebounds. But there was no answer for James, who by then was scoring seemingly at will, many of his shots falling - agonizingly - at the shot-clock buzzer.

It's not easy being a Raptors fan right now.

James was 17-of-26 on contested shots, which counts as the most contested makes of any player this postseason, according to ESPN. "I don't know what it is".

After their hard-fought round one victory, something suddenly clicked against the Toronto Raptors. He was legitimately unstoppable - hitting ridiculous fadeaway after fadeaway - in the second half when Cleveland took control. "Way more effort. We have to play harder. We'll find some answers, whether we change the lineup, whatever it is, to keep the offence moving, keep the game moving, and keep the pace going". The Raptors shot 54.3 percent. "Fantastic shots and incredible game". The Toronto Raptors are shooting 39.7 percent from beyond the arc and 80.6 percent from the free throw line.

After a pair of verbal confrontations with Cleveland's Kendrick Perkins in Game 1, rapper Drake stayed out of trouble in Game 2.

Drake left the arena with two minutes to play on Thursday.

Following another epic performance in Game 2, James credited Casey, the mastermind of the Mavericks' defence in 2011 when Dallas and Miami - during James' first season playing for the Heat - hooked up in the National Basketball Association final. They were so good they could have overthrown the Canadian parliament.

Lowry couldn't miss in the first quarter, going a flawless 4-for-4 including a pair of threes for 10 points in the frame.
