Two Rookie Dallas Police Officers Shot While Serving Warrant

Two police officers were shot and critically wounded Tuesday in Dallas, along with a civilian whose condition has not been given. His or her condition is unknown at this time. The shooting happened o Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

A 29-year-old man is being sought as a person of interest.

Video from news crews at the scene of the shooting showed several officers with rifles drawn, apparently searching for the shooter in a creek bed near the home improvement store.

Five police officers in Dallas were killed by a sniper in 2016 in an attack that sent shockwaves through the city and nation.

Armando Juarez L/M/29, is a person of interest in the Attempted Capital Murder of 2 Police Officers that occurred at the Home Depot located at 11682 Forest Central Drive.

"It sobers us to realize what officers walk into day in and day out and how quickly they can become victims", Rawlings said in the news conference.

The suspected shooter fled the locations and was being sought on Tuesday evening.

Council member Adam McGough, who represents the area, said he is praying for the officers and their families.

Police officials say the officer detained a suspect and requested additional officers for assistance.
