According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 71 out of the 103 missiles were intercepted by the Syrian air defense systems, which includes predominantly Soviet-made missile defense installations, such as S-125, S-200, Buk, Kvadrat and Osa.
He added, "We really need to find a way in relation to the violation of global law that the use of chemical weapons represents".
Even the Foreign Ministry of Russia said Saturday that Russian and Allied forces experienced guaranteed safe passage for the O.P.C.W. team and implied that any flaws inside their trip had been caused by these.
In the early hours of April 14, the US, France and the United Kingdom conducted coordinated airstrikes on Syrian civil and military facilities in retaliation for the alleged use of chemical weapons by government forces in the Damascus suburb of Douma on April 7.
Touching upon the alleged chemical attack in Douma and the Western airstrikes that followed it, Shiha described all this as a "real show".
At the second site, they came under small arms fire and an explosive device was detonated nearby, the OPCW said in a statement.
The evacuations were the latest in a string of population transfers around the Syrian capital that have displaced more than 60,000 people as the government reconsolidates control after seven years of civil war.
Inspectors from OPCW has been delayed for a week in Damascus before they could visit the town - just minutes' away from the capital - where the alleged attack occurred on April 7. That report made clear that the rebel resistance had already collapsed and that the rebel fighters were going to be evacuated in following days by chartered buses, which had already begun moving them out of the city well before April 7.
State-run Al-Ikhbariya TV said several buses left the towns of Ruhaiba, Jayroud, and al-Nasriya carrying hundreds of rebels and their families to opposition territory in north Syria. "If you take a bunch of swimming pool water and throw it on the ground and wait three days, it would look exactly the same".
Syrian government forces will take over the towns once the departures are complete.
