The judge ruled the woman needed further evaluation.
According to court documents, Mills was found covered in blood and wore a glove when deputies found her at a home in Lerona. A court-ordered mental evaluation is planned for Wednesday to decide whether Mills could endure trial, according to the West Virginia MetroNews. The complaint said Mills was White's father's girlfriend but noted that Mills went home with White the night before the murder.
The suspect, Roena Cheryl Mills, 41, is facing murder charges in the death of Bo Allen White, 29. Mills refused to disclose her aggressor's identity and gave the police a false name. After investigating the house, deputies said they discovered another beheaded man. A different, unidentified part of his body was also found where Mills was arrested. Responding police reportedly found White's decapitated body, and the second glove, in the Clover Lane residence; they claimed they also located part of White's body where Mills was arrested was hours earlier.
Mills was allegedly "combative" during her arrest, according to WVSN, and when in the deputies' auto, reportedly said: "You have to take me back and let me get my heads".
At first, Mills said she had cut her fingers, the Telegraph said.
'Even though she's only been initially charged with second degree murder because there was some initial doubt about premeditation, grand jury could certainly indict her for first degree murder, ' Sitler said. Jail records don't indicate whether she has an attorney.
Mills is now being held in he Southern Regional Jail in Raleigh County pending cash-only bail of $210,000.
It is unclear whether he was killed by the dismemberment, or was already dead when Mills allegedly decapitated him.
