In the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Chanu won the silver medal for the country in 48 kg category.

India's Gururaja Poojary finished second while Sri Lanka's Chaturanga Lakmal won the bronze medal. "This Commonwealth Games my target is to qualify for the Olympic Games which is making a time of 22 seconds".

In the Women's singles, former World No. 1 and Bronze medallist in London 2012, Saina Nehwal would be up against Mahoor Shahzad.

"I still enjoy wrestling, I still love the sport a lot".
