Mario Tennis Aces launches in June, free online tournament happening before release

Mario Tennis Aces release date leaks ahead of Nintendo Direct

Mario Tennis Aces – out this June

You can view the presentation below. Save those for E3.

The 3DS had four notable titles presented, starting with Wario Ware Gold.

Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers is coming on May 25th 2018. This meter is charged by either keeping a volley going, or performing a trick shot. There will be a demo on May 10th and a full release on May 24th. More dream friends, fan favorite villain characters, will be added for free post-launch, and the first characters will include Rick, Kine, and Coo, Marx, and Gooey. Bowsers Inside Story will have players switching from Mario and Luigi to Bowser, as they are trapped in the King of Koopa's stomach.

As far as I'm aware, it's the first time Mario's held such a pose on the cover of a Mario Tennis game, so I'm just going to assume that Nintendo have done this on objective.

Nintendo also plans to host a pre-launch online tournament, one that will presumably offer players the chance to check out Mario Tennis Aces ahead of its launch through an exclusive 1 vs. 1 online tournament.

Mario Tennis Aces will support multiple modes including a simplified "simple rulset" which only allows basic shots.

There is also a new Zone mechanic. The game will release on June 22nd 2018.

Which new game or games from Nintendo are you looking forward to most?

Kirby Star Allies will let you play as King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Bandanna Waddle Dee in multiplayer. You can summon legacy characters like Meta Knight and King Dedede to join you in-game. Players can swing rackets as one of over 15 characters. There is now a demo available on the Nintendo e-Shop.

Octopath Traveler also got a wealth of announcements.

Finally, there are some new playable characters. What do you want to see during the Nintendo Direct? There will be seven games (worlds) to explore with co-op multiplayer using two joy-con.

Arms is getting an online tournament for the USA and Canada. The prelims will take place in the game's online ranked mode from March 8 - 18, and best eight players from each region will move on to the finals. The Global Testpunch will happen for three days on March 31. The DLC will have you play as Agent 8 within vast secret subway subterranean world. The expansion has a recommended retail price of $19.99 and will launch this summer.

Captian Toad's Treasure Tracker from the Wii U is being ported to Switch. There will be a network test incoming, with more information dropping at a later date. You can get the Praise the Sun gesture by using the Solaire Amiibo.

The Crash Bandicoot N.Sane trilogy is also coming to the Nintendo Switch. Fun fact: according to the late Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata, the game was compatible with an unreleased piece of hardware for the GameCube that allowed the display of 3D images. This will release on July 13th 2018.

It wouldn't be a Nintendo console without having Super Smash Bros available to play on it. Making its debut on the Switch is this hugely popular fighting series. A bunch of new lore info will be packed in this too, expanding on the world of Splatoon. The teaser also had silhouettes of Mario and what looks to be Breath of the Wild Link.

Here is all the info we were able to gather from the Nintendo Direct. It looks as good as ever on the Nintendo Switch!

The horror-puzzle game, Little Nightmares Complete Edition, is scurrying its way to the Switch sooner than you might think.

"South Park" The Fractured But Whole is coming to the Nintendo Switch on April 24.
