Sridevi Bollywood leading lady of ’80s and ’90s dies at 54

Bollywood actress popular for her roles since childhood passed away due to a cardiac arrest in Dubai.

Sridevi died at age 54 in Dubai reportedly after cardiac arrest.

55-year-old Sridevi will be survived by her daughters Janvi and Kushi Kapoor along with husband Boney Kapoor in case if this news is true. Sridevi was with her husband and younger daughter Khushi in Dubai at the time of her death.

Sridevi Kapoor (born 13 August 1963) was an Indian film actress and producer who has starred in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada films.

Victor of five Filmfare awards and conferred with Padma Shi Sridevi is regarded as one of the most popular heroines of Indian Cinema of all times. In 1978, Sridevi appeared on the silver screen at the leading actress with film Solva Sawan.

Some of her blockbusters includes Chandni, Lamhe, Mr India, Nagina and many more. She made her debut in Tamil films as a child artiste with "Thunaivan" in 1969.

She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2013. Sridevi's more recent movies were English Vinglish and MOM which released in 2017.

She last appeared on revenge-thriller Mom released in July a year ago.

The news of death came as a shock for everyone in the film industry.

Quantico star Priyanka Chopra tweeted: "I have no words". Our condolences go out to the Kapoor family and especially her daughters, who will no doubt miss their mother who was very close to them and supporting their careers.
