Saturday Snow: Region transitions from near-record warmth to a winter storm watch

Boston could get up to 7 inches of snow this weekend

Clouds will return Saturday, with a chance of afternoon light snow for the Stateline and rain south of I-80. Winds gusting as high as 35 miles per hour in exposed higher terrain may cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. A winter storm watch is in effect for for southern Lake and Cook counties from Sunday morning through Sunday afternoon.

Snowfall is expected to decrease Monday night. "Central Minnesota through northwest Wisconsin have the best chance of seeing additional snow for the start of the work week".

The weather service noted there is considerable uncertainty with the storm system. Check back to for updates.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Framingham, and MetroWest, from 7 p.m. today through 7 a.m. Sunday, at 1:26 p.m. today.

After snow Saturday evening's snow showers conditions will clear on Sunday and the day will be filled witha generous amount of sunshine!
