Salah did it in 23 games, and the last Liverpool player to do it quicker in top-flight football was Fred Pagnam in 1915.

Salah added, "I'm happy scoring goals for the club I supported as a kid - that's all that matters".

The 25-year-old arrived at the Merseyside club from Roma in June last year for his second spell in the English Premier League after an underwhelming two-year stint with Chelsea.

After scoring a goal and making an assist in his first Premier League game for the Reds back in August against Watford, Salah has since scored a further 27 goals in all competitions. I don't have much to say about that.

"I watch some games, not always, as sometimes it coincides with Liverpool games", he said.

Mohamed Salah has responded to transfer rumours linking him with a sensational move to Real Madrid.

But in an interview with Marca, Salah insisted that his desire is to stay at Anfield.

Liverpool's star attacker Mohamed Salah thinks that Tottenham striker Harry Kane will win his third consecutive Golden Boot this season. I want to concentrate on my team and finish the season very well.

Having had a blistering season in Switzerland with Basel, Salah moved to Chelsea in 2014 but failed to impress during his time at Stamford Bridge. Every step I took, the dreams were getting bigger.

"In football you never know", he responded. "When you come from Egypt to Europe, you don't speak the language, your family is in Egypt and travelling to see them is hard, but what was clear from the beginning was that I didn't want to come back except as a top player... or retired [laughs]".

And the Egypt winger, proud to have been on the same team with him, admitted that he misses his friend. I learned a lot from him. "I'm proud to have played by his side".
