In a surprise turn of events, this year's Royal Rumble came and passed nearly entirely without complaint.
"We have a smorgasbord of cultural amazingness", Rousey said. Rousey would travel to the Performance Center at night while filming the "Mile 22" movie in Atlanta. Rousey's last MMA fight came on December 30th, 2016 - a loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.
Thus, someone coming over from the UFC to the WWE isn't groundbreaking news.
At the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble, there was history made. Rousey told TMZ that she would not return from Colombia until February and ruled out a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble.
"I wouldn't doubt myself doing anything", she said. "No pen to paper for me".
It is a tough transition from the UFC to the WWE. Instead, UFC president Dana White allowed Rousey to skip out on all the regular pre-fight duties including interviews, open workouts, or any sort of media day with reporters.
WWE declined to make Rousey or any executives such as chief negotiator Paul "Triple H" Levesque available for interviews on Monday. We've had back-and-forth conversations.
"It's amusing - it's kind of like acting, in that it was something I always wanted to do but I never thought was in the cards for me", Rousey told ESPN of wanting to wrestle professionally. "This has been a dream of mine since I started MMA and I asked "Rowdy" Roddy Piper if I could have his name". She hip-tossed Triple H and locked a standing overhook on Stephanie McMahon before tossing each of them out of the ring to the floor.
Rousey also appeared at WWE's Mae Young Classic. This satisfied the purists, while Ronda Rousey's post-match cameo ensured that company heads got their precious mainstream headlines.
It appears that Nikki agrees with some fans who thought the fact that Rousey showed up after the match took away from the historic moment.
It seems unlikely Philly is the place. Both Raw and SmackDown rosters will be featured on the card.
Rousey could lead her Horsewomen against a WWE faction at WrestleMania on April 8.
"I'm very happy for her", he told the Review-Journal via text on Sunday night.
The "Rowdy" one is now a full-fledged WWE star. I'm on the road with all the other girls, all the men and women who are on the road 270 days a year. Keep scrolling below to find out what fans can expect to see from Ronda's storyline if she joins the cast!
Ronda Rousey says the WWE has first priority on her time and she's not joining it for the money.
