Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have named their new-born daughter, delivered by surrogate on Monday, Chicago West.

But Kim took to Twitter this morning to announce her baby girl's name to her 58 million followers.

The baby, who is sure to be in the spotlight soon, apparently already has a nickname - North and Saint have reportedly been calling her "Chi" (pronounced like "shy"). As for baby Chicago, she joins big sister North, 4, and brother Saint, 2. She shared the exciting news first on her website, then to her Twitter, and fans are loving it!

The reality star, 37, announced the name on her app, simply sharing a picture of the name followed by her birth date and weight.

Fans of the entrepreneur have been speculating about the name of the baby ever since it was revealed on Keeping Up With The Kardashians that the 37-year-old had chose to have a third child via surrogate after suffering fertility problems.

"Place names are hot!"

Following the announcement "Chicago West" was quickly trending on social media, prompting a mixed reaction as fans gave their approval of the name while others expressed their incredulity at the choice of moniker.

Kim and Kanye, who married in 2014, are known for giving their children unique names. "I loooooover her name", wrote the proud auntie.

Kardashian West carried and gave birth to her older children but was advised against getting pregnant again because of possible medical complications.

She added that her daughter North and son Saint, who she carried herself, are "especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister".

Kim went on to explain that the choice of going with a surrogate was actually more hard as she knew what it was like to carry her previous two children and not going through that experience with this one was disorienting and challenging.
