Benchmark GFXBench leaked to the network information about the hardware of the new not yet presented smartphone Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime (2018). Equipped with a 1.59GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core SoC, there is up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which appears suited for everyday tasks and heavy gaming. In terms of rear camera performance, the phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) assisted 16 MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture shows Samsung's expertise in mobile photography.
This rumor stemmed from Samsung's announcement that it had developed a 512 GB capacity for onboard storage to allow devices to support large multimedia files, particularly high-quality videos. This means that you can get the smartphone at 59,900.
There has also been talk of Samsung fitting a 3D scanner to the front of the S9, enabling a face detection system like FaceID on the iPhone X. But, again, this claim is somewhat sketchy as it comes from a single unsubstantiated tweet from an account with just a few thousand followers. It is also possible that the update is limited to the T-Mobile's devices and the devices sold in the US. Moreover, unlike the Galaxy J7 Prime, the Galaxy On7 Prime comes with significantly more RAM and storage, which is always a big bonus to have. It has a metal unibody design with fingerprint sensor in the Home button.
The Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime has been priced at Rs. 12,990 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant, and Rs. 14,990 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model.
The listings do not reveal any sort of details around the timeline of the launch, but we can expect it to arrive only after flagship series including the range and is updated with Android 8.0 Oreo. Both the cameras feature f/1.9 aperture and work in tandem to offer regular dual-camera goodies like the portrait mode, bokeh effect, live-focus, stickers, etc. The device comes with the all-new Samsung Mall which is a visual search engine. There are some unique software features and preinstalled apps that could help the Galaxy On7 Prime compete with the likes of the Xiaomi Mi A1, Lenovo K8 Note, and Nokia 5. With the new AI-based feature, Bixby support, premium appearance, and an average camera, the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime appears to be an average offering at the given price. Stay tuned to BGR India for the full review of the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime.
