Peel Regional Police are investigating a convenience store robbery that occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 9, in the area of Trelawny Circle and Tenth Line in Mississauga. The victim wasn't able to get a good look at the 2nd man. Police have video footage of the robbery and the investigation is ongoing.
Police said at about 10:23 p.m. the suspected entered a business in the area of Sunset Road and Fort Apache Road.
They found the vehicle, but suspects fled the scene on foot.
The victim of the carjacking refused to pursue charges, but Jamie Hernandez, 21, was charged with one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm, police said. He was armed with a black automatic-style handgun at the time of the robbery. There were no injuries reported.
Troopers report that a witness told investigators that two men wearing dark clothing went into the store, and the first suspect wielded a shotgun.
At 7:25 p.m., a white man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark trousers, a black mask and gloves, armed with a black pistol, entered the Z1 Express store at 650 Second St. and demanded cash.
