United States could use some 'good old global warming' during cold snap

Trump even got owned by Lisa Simpson, who once explained to her dad, Homer, that "Global warming can cause weather at both extremes - hot and cold".

He tweeted: "In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year's Eve on record". In June 2017, Trump chose to pull the country out from the single-most ambitious global climate accord to date, citing, like he did Thursday, the money being spent by the US on fighting climate change.

"Weather is what conditions of the atmosphere are over a short period of time, and climate is how the atmosphere "behaves" over relatively long periods of time", the agency said in an online post.

Over the weekend in Erie, Pa., around 50 inches of lake-effect snow fell in the city as well, making for a cold and snowy Christmas. "Paris withdrawal leaves American workers & families behind", tweeted Clinton in June when Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the Paris Accord.

Incidentally, scientists predict that 2017 will be the second or third warmest year since record-keeping began. In the USA alone, about $400 billion worth of climate-related damage was caused during the year, and there are still three days to go.

The tweet certainly falls in line with his administration's pro-energy, anti-climate agenda.

US President Donald Trump today mocked the science-backed global warming theory and joked that the alarming rise in the Earth's temperature may bring relief to those reeling under a cold wave on the country's east coast.

Trump has tweeted similar, almost verbatim thoughts about his climate/weather confusion before.

In 2015, he wrote: "It's really cold outside, they are calling it a major freeze, weeks ahead of normal". The "good old" global warming that the world has had to deal with in recent years can come to your rescue.
