Paul Finebaum: Jim Harbaugh 'poached' Shea Patterson

Shea Patterson Transferring to Michigan, Time for Jim Harbaugh to Win There

QB Shea Patterson announces decision to transfer. Here's where he's headed.

Former IMG Academy quarterback Shea Patterson's time at MS is over.

The former Ole Miss quarterback, who visited the University of MI on Saturday, announced Monday in a Twitter post that he will transfer to UM.

Former five-star quarterback recruit Shea Patterson has made a decision to transfer to MI. Patterson, a rising junior, would have get a waiver from the NCAA to play next year. That place is MI where Patterson will learn from Jim Harbaugh who molded Andrew Luck at Stanford but has been unable to get sustained and consistent play from the Wolverines quarterbacks. "If the NCAA allows him to play in 2018 the Wolverines become a title contender". For his Ole Miss career, he averaged 313.9 yards passing in 10 games. Should Patterson not be eligible for 2018, Peters or McCaffrey will vie for the starting job. His older brother, Sean, left a quality control job at LSU to join his brother at Ole Miss as a senior player personnel analyst shortly after Patterson committed to the Rebels in 2015. He started toward the end of his freshman season and was the starter this season for the Rebels before he was lost with a season-ending knee injury that kept him out of the last five games. Ole Miss went 1-2 in those games. He took an official visit there along with Ole Miss teammates safety Deontay Anderson and wide receiver Van Jefferson over the weekend. All three were joined by the entire MI coaching staff, including coach Jim Harbaugh, at the Crisler Center for the Wolverines' overtime win over UCLA on Saturday afternoon.

"More competition makes each other better", said freshman center Cesar Ruiz, who was Patterson's prep quarterback at IMG Academy.
