Josh McCown starred as the New York Jets beat the Kansas City Chiefs 38-31 in an exciting encounter, completing 26 of 36 passes for 331 yards and a touchdown.

The Patriots have turned to the Bills to fill several holes on their roster in recent years, with Lee the most recent example. The 44-yard run was the longest of Lewis' career. In a 12-9 overtime victory on December 16 of that season, wide receiver David Patten had fumbled along the sideline and was knocked out briefly on the play, but because his head was out of bounds and the ball was still touching him, the Bills couldn't recover it legally.

Add in a halftime adjustment to get tight end Rob Gronkowski (9 catches, 147 yards after having just 2 catches for 28 yards at the half) more involved in the second half, and that was the formula that helped produce a 23-3 victory at New Era Field. Webb would take a quarterback keep for a 22-yard run and narrowly missed connecting with Travaris Cadet for a touchdown pass.

Stephen Hauschka made a 49-yard field goal to put Buffalo on the board late in the second quarter. The Bills defense, with three sacks in the half, had all the answers early on and was able to hold the top-ranked defense in place.

One positive from the first half has been the play of former Bill Eric Lee, who seems to be flourishing in his new haunts.

In last week's 35-17 win over Miami, Flowers finished with four combined tackles and two sacks. Cooks should bounce back in a big way against the Dolphins' nonexistent defense in Week 14. The reception gave him over 100-yards receiving on the day. Rookie Nathan Peterman would replace Taylor at quarterback following his knee injury.

Things came to a head in Buffalo on Sunday. The Bills fall to (6-6) and will play the Colts in Buffalo next week.
