During the family's statement, the girl held her father, Rodd Frisina, closely and nestled under his chin, eyes closed.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Rodriguez is now being held in a NY jail and faces a charge of interfering with the custody of a minor.
A Florida teen was reportedly found safe more than 1,000 miles from her home following a lengthy search for her and her 27-year-old soccer coach. He is merely being questioned by State Police.
"We had a very attractive, wonderful, very emotional reunion with her a little while ago", the teen's mother, Scarlet Frisina, told reporters at a news conference Saturday afternoon. "There are no words right now to express how grateful we are for all the love!" She had last been seen at her home Saturday night. Law enforcement officials had issued a nationwide alert for her and Rian Rodriguez, who had been tracked through an ATM withdrawal in Georgia on Sunday and by surveillance cameras at convenience stores in SC and North Carolina.
Frisina and Rodriguez were spotted on cameras in Georgia on Sunday and then at a pawn shop in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The girl's mother, Scarlet, thanked law enforcement across the country and in NY for their help. It's believed she left voluntarily with him, authorities said earlier. "But I absolutely believe that she was lied to and totally misled", Scarlett Frisina told CBS.
"Video from the store showed Rian and Caitlyn, which confirmed to us they were together", Hunter said.
