Three passengers, among them a six-year-old boy, were killed and nine suffered injuries when 14 coaches of the Patna-bound Vasco Da Gama-Patna Express derailed at Manikpur railway station in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, after 4 am on Friday.
The commissioner of railway safety (North-East circle) SK Pandey will conduct a probe into the derailment of Vasco Da Gama-Patna Express at Manikpur and Allahabad on November 28 and 29 respectively.
After the incident took place, the train movements were disrupted on the Patna Allahabad route.
Rail Minister Piyush Goyal announces a compensation of five lakhs for the deceased and one lakh for the injured.

May 4, 2014: At least 20 people were killed and about 100 injured when the Diva Junction-Sawantwadi passenger train derailed between Nagothane and Roha stations in Maharashtra's Raigad district.
The recent incidents of train derailments have caused great concern in the country.
Senior railway ministry officials along with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and a medical train carried out rescue operations and provided support to victims.
An Inquiry Committee has been set up by East Coast Railway (ECoR) General Manager Umesh Singh to find the reason for the derailment.
