Denver is sliding big time, and playing an angry Raiders bunch that were humiliated in their last outing won't help.
While an official announcement isn't expected to come until tomorrow, Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk reports that the Broncos have chose to replace Osweiler with Lynch for their Week 12 matchup against the Oakland Raiders.
At the very least, vice president/general manager John Elway and head coach Vance Joseph will get to see if Lynch is equipped for the starting job heading into 2018.
Sunday will apparently be that point. Lynch, who has not played in a game since December 4, 2016, when he start against the Jacksonville Jaguars, will be the third quarterback to start for the Broncos this season after Trevor Siemian and Brock Osweiler.
Lynch completed 59 percent of his passes for 497 yards with two touchdowns against one interception in two and a half games previous year. Their poor play led, in part, to the firing of offensive coordinator Mike McCoy on Monday.
Lynch, who injured his right shoulder injury in the Broncos' Aug. 26 preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, was the team's No. 2 quarterback, behind Osweiler, in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. I feel like mentally I've taken a step forward. Lynch had just three completions longer than 10 yards. Osweiler went 0-3 as the starter. With Siemian at the helm, the Broncos nearly upended the Chiefs at home in a close game plagued by turnovers from the quarterback.
"It's been tough", Lynch said last week.
In a season full of accusations of quitting, not caring and just being flat out soft, Anderson's postgame demeanor should serve as a reminder to all; you don't care more than they do.
