New World of Warcraft expansion Battle for Azeroth announced

Blizzard teases vanilla servers with 'World of Warcraft Classic'

"Fans of World of Warcraft around the world, we hear you", Brack told the crowd.

Battle For Azeroth takes place on two continents, each of particular interest to one faction: Kul Tiras for the Alliance, and Zandalar for the Horde. In addition to the just-announced expansion, Blizzard has chose to give in to players who've hated all the expansions to date and would rather play the original game, sans pandas and Lich Kings.

More will be revealed throughout the weekend at BlizzCon, so check out the virtual ticket for the livestreams, if you bought it. Battle for Azeroth has all of that, and it will give players the option to create new characters allied races, and each race will come with their own abilities and customization options.

Battle for Azeroth will see players battling it out in groups of three to collect island resources across previously unmapped islands of Azeroth. You'll also be able to access new areas called Waterfronts that support 20 player fights over locations that are reportedly of strategic importance to both the Horde and the Alliance.

World of Warcraft is available on PC, Mac, and Linux. "So please bear with us, it's going to take some time". The level cap has been raised to 120 and players can also use the Heart of Azeroth neck piece and imbue it with Azerite to customize their armor with new powers and traits. Legion was the latest expansion, but the story there has now ended, with the final raid about to be completed soon, so it's getting a new expansion soon: Battle for Azeroth.
