Blizzard has unveiled new content on the way to its popular hero-based first-person shooter (FPS) Overwatch, as a part of its annual BlizzCon conference. It's not entirely clear how her abilities work, but it seems that she will function kind of like Zenyatta in that players will need to swap between damage and healing. She is a support healer character that can also dole out a surprising amount of damage and has an ability called Fade allowing for added mobility. Fortunately, she found a new home in Overwatch's covert ops division Blackwatch, who came to her with an offer she couldn't refuse. Her left hand expels biotic energy that can heal her allies, while her right hand shoots out energy that can damage enemies.
Moira is the latest hero, and she'll both the opposition away with shadow while she heals her allies.
She's got to balance these, though: using the healing attack, she expends energy, which is then replenished with her damaging attack, which also heals Moira.
Check out the official Overwatch website for more information. It looks like a mash-up of Reaper's Teleport ability and Tracer's Blink, so it could prove extremely useful in risky situations.
Coalescence - Moira channels a long-range beam that both heals allies and bypasses barriers to damage her enemies.
So what do you think of Moira? It's certainly going to be interesting to see how her inclusion in the game changes everything moving forward! Moira is the sixth support class hero to join the rest of the large cast, bringing the support class' numbers up to match those of the defense and tank classes.
