Miami-South Florida has been announced as the site for the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship, it was announced today by the College Football Playoff. Los Angeles' bid was led by the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC).

Here are the four sites chosen.

The stadium, anticipated to open in 2020, would host the first College Football National Championship would be played in Los Angeles. The new stadium in Southern California that will be the home of the NFL's Rams and Chargers will be the site of the 2023 national title game, followed by NRG Stadium in Houston the next year.

Former director of NCAA Men's Final Four and current College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock is looking forward to bringing this iconic event to the Hoosier state.

"We just kept asking ourselves, 'Why not go north?'" Hancock says.

This year's national title game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Every BCS championship game was held in either Florida, Louisiana, Arizona or California, while the start of the CFP title games have only added Texas and Georgia. The bidding processes likely will return once the 10 in 10 cycle finishes.
