With Gamescom 2017 in full swing, developer Blizzard has chose to reveal another Animated Short for their hit FPS (first person shooter) Overwatch. Unfortunately, an alert doesn't come for more than nine years, and Mei awakes to find she is alone after malfunctions to the stasis chambers of the rest of her team. Also, she's been in suspended animation for nine years, and she has no way of making contact with the outside world.
She soon discovers that the lapse in time has resulted in the disbanding of Overwatch, and the fact that all of her team members are still stuck in cryostatus, without any kind of pulse. With Snowball at her side, Mei builds her blaster-until the power goes out.
Overwatch has been a big hit since launching last May for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
There's something about the sheer beauty of Blizzard's animated shorts for the game Overwatch that makes us all warm and fuzzy. In this video we get to follow the origin of Mei, who was a climatologist that was stuck in cryo-sleep for a long time.
Mei is determined to continue her mission to the climate threats while trying to re-establish the eco-network.
Through the course of the video, Mei works on patching through a transmission that ends up being a message from none other than Winston attempting to call the Overwatch team back together.
