Several waves of energy will ride along a front draped across our region this weekend.
Sunday night will be similar to tonight.mild lows in the lower 70s under gradually clearing skies and a light wind. Even with temperatures in the low 80s, which is near average for this time of year, the humidity will make it rather uncomfortable outside. Opening the windows tonight won't be a big help once the temperatures cool off. Although, with scattered showers and thunderstorms lingering overnight, it won't be a good idea to open the windows anyways.
Showers are possible at any point in time during the day.
Friday night into Saturday, the chance for severe weather returns.
Once again, a few of the storms will have at least 40 mph winds and very heavy rain. Heat index values (heat indices) will climb well above the triple digit mark today. Highs will be closer to 90 degrees and be on the lookout for pop-up storms after 11 a.m. I'm expecting a better coverage of scattered storms for tomorrow afternoon so plan for possible delays and stay weather alert. Heat levels will be highest to the north, closer to the center of the upper high that represents the center of the hot dome.
Today expect plenty of sunshine although keep an eye on the sky for afternoon storm development. Lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. A few storms could become strong with gusty wind the primary threat.
Saturday.Partly cloudy with a chance for a few storms.
