Gymboree and insane 8 will close some of its Arizona retail stores among the company's restructuring. Seven of the locations are in Colorado.

Gymboree will close its stores in the Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown and Penn's Purchase outlet center in Buckingham as part of its bankruptcy reorganization.

The closing sales at affected stores are scheduled to begin on July 18.

Gymboree filed for bankruptcy protection in June, indicating they might close as many as 450 stores.

A children's clothing store in St. Cloud will stay open despite the company's recent bankruptcy. A handful of Janie and Jack stores will close. It is the Gymboree at the West Park Mall in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

"As part of our court-supervised restructuring process, the Gymboree Corp.is taking necessary steps to strengthen our company as a whole by closing certain Gymboree and insane 8 brand stores", the company said in a statement.

After this round of store closings, it will still have a handful of Gymboree stores in the area at Ridgedale Center, Twin Cities Premium Outlets, Albertville Premium Outlets, and in Woodbury. The goal, it said, is a "right size store base". The Gymboree stores, meanwhile, fall into an awkward middle market that consumers, across apparel and retail niches, have been abandoning.

Since December, the mall has lost several stores, including Sears, Aeropostale, The Limited, New York & Co., Wet Seal, Simply Mac, Family Christian and Vanity.
