Several pigs escaped after a tractor-trailer crashed on Interstate 45 south of Dallas Thursday morning.

The crash involved two 18-wheelers and a auto.

An accident on I-45 in Wilmer, Texas shut down the road in both directions.

During the crash clean up, pigs stood and grazed across the highway.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured and police sprayed water on the pigs to keep them cool in the Texas heat as they guided them back to the truck.

The truck transporting the pigs tipped over on its side in the crash, allowing some of the pigs to run free.

There's no word on what caused the crash. "We do not know how many dead-loss or how many ran off", Wilmer Police Department Lt. Eric Pon told KTVT.

Appearing to be unharmed, the pigs began to trot more than a half mile down the highway, leaving authorities in a panic as they attempted to round up the animals.
